Theresa May visits Nicholsons Centre, Maidenhead

June 2016 - Theresa May, Home Secretary and Maidenhead MP today, 3 June 2016,  visited the Nicholsons shopping centre, Maidenhead.   The centre,  which was taken over by Vixcroft in 2015 is undergoing a major turnaround with new stores opening and improvements being undertaken.

H & M opened in the centre at the beginning of  May 2016  and has reported excellent trading.  On the back of this opening the owners and managers, Vixcroft, confirm that there has been interest from a number of other national retailers who would like to take units.

Commenting on her visit Mrs May said: “This is an important step for the Nicholsons and is a key part of the wider work going on to ensure a successful future for Maidenhead. We want to see more shops and businesses attracted to the town centre so that it can become a vibrant hub for the community, and so that we can continue to create jobs and support the local economy.”

Vixcroft chief executive, Daniel Carter added: “Vixcroft invested here with the intention of driving transformation.  In a short time we have achieved a lot and we look  forward to delivering more -  a new better quality and bigger car park and a new link from the railway station and High Street through the centre and new tenants in the centre.”
